Us Before You

Your choices, remembered.

Cookies and similar storage

Cookies and browser storage help keep your portrait session private, remember your looks and save your privacy choices. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any public page to reject optional tracking or change your choices. Closing the panel does not grant consent.

Necessary storage

Our HttpOnly uby_session and uby_gallery cookies protect access to your portrait session and gallery. Browser storage remembers selected looks and prevents withdrawn tracking from restarting. Consent cookies uby_analytics_consent and uby_ads remember analytics and advertising choices for up to 180 days. Private access cookies expire according to the session or gallery access period; saved browser drafts remain until cleared or replaced. Internal admin authentication uses separate secure cookies.

Optional product analytics

When enabled and accepted, PostHog receives limited usage events and anonymous identifiers to help us understand the portrait journey. Our wrapper disables automatic page capture, session replay and persistent PostHog storage. Photos, email addresses, prompts, image URLs and private gallery links are excluded. Declining does not affect creating or buying portraits.

Optional advertising

When enabled and accepted, Meta Pixel and our server-side Conversions API share event details and browser/click identifiers to measure visits and purchases. Meta may set _fbp and _fbc cookies; their duration is controlled by Meta. Advertising consent is separate from product analytics and email marketing. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep optional tracking off.

Changing your choice

Choose Reject optional in Cookie settings to withdraw both categories, or use Customize to choose them separately. Withdrawal stops our tracking and clears Meta cookies set on our domain. The server cancels eligible unsent events and removes associated attribution. It cannot recall events already delivered to providers. Clearing cookies or using another browser may require a new choice.

Other services

Stripe Checkout and other external services have their own cookie and privacy practices on their pages. This panel governs Us Before You’s optional analytics and advertising. Read our privacy policy for photo processing, providers, contact and deletion information.

Current retention configuration

Automatic expiry cleanup is not enabled. When enabled, it requests photo removal 30 days after the private session expires. Customer deletion requests can be made independently.

Accounting records: no automatic purge period configured. Processed webhook receipts: no automatic purge period configured. These are operational settings, not statements of a legal requirement.

Payment-related email addresses are currently retained for company review of accounting/support obligations. Payment and fraud-retention holds may prevent automatic record removal.
